The Pokemon company’s 30th anniversary happened a month ago, and it brought along a trailer for the newest generation. Pokemon Wind and Waves is the 10th iteration, which was introduced during their anniversary livestream on February 27. Currently, the release date is estimated to be in 2027.

During the weeks following, many leaks have come out in regards to the Pokemon being introduced within the game. Along with this, there are many regional variants, or Pokemon that have changes in designs when they’re in different regions, that have been rumored to be coming.

One of the new Pokemon that has been leaked is Ratdimil: The Rat King Pokemon. It is a normal ice-type pokemon that is a new evolution for Rattata alongside Raticate. We can see from the leaks that Rattata will evolve into Ratdimil when it wins a battle while the rest of the team has fainted.

Another new Pokemon being released in Wind and Waves is Venonyan: The Venom Cat Pokemon, a poison fairy type. Venonyan is a standalone Pokemon with no evolution, and its design is heavily based on the yokai Nekomata, which frequently appears in Japanese folklore. The Nekomata is a malicious and vengeful yokai within Japanese folklore, which likely means that Venonyan will have similar behaviors within the game.

Some of the other regional variants that will be showing up in the game are Dhelmise, Togedemaru, Vaporeon, and Mudbray. The regional variant of Dhelmise will be a ghost and steel type, and will resemble a more modern steel ship anchor rather than a wooden one. The new variant of Togedemaru will be an electric-fire type, in which its back spikes will be copper in color and the main body will be a muted orange. Vaporeon’s new variant will stay a water type. Its appearance, on the other hand, will have the addition to an array of flowers made out of water around its tail, neck, torso, and along its back. Last but not least, Mudbray and its evolution, Mudsdale.  Mudbray will change from being only a ground type to being a rock type. Mudbray’s appearance will resemble a stone statue of a horse. Mudsdale will change from a ground type to a rock and grass type. It will resemble a mossy and forgotten statue of a horse.

These leaks are only a small fraction of the new information that has been released about the game. Remember to take every leak with a grain of salt, as the designs can always be changed.
