NCAA Swim and Dive 2025 Memorable Moments
As the NCAA Swim and Dive of 2025 had recently come to an end, let’s revisit some of the most memorable moments:
Gretchen Walsh becomes the first woman to break 47 seconds in the 100 Butterfly.
Gretchen Walsh had previously held 7 individual NCAA championships. She previously held the record with an impressive time of 47.21. With a time of 46.97, she is the only woman who has ever broken 47 seconds during a 100 Fly. Marking a time for the history books and athletes across the world.
The University of Virginia dominated in the 400 Medley Relay, with an elite team of both
Alex and younger sister Gretchen Walsh, Anna Moech, and Claire Curzan. With Curzan starting the lead off with a 100 backstroke and time of 49.35, allowing for a lead and Alex Walsh to crush the competition with an excellent breaststroke leg time of 57.05. Next up was Gretchen Walsh doing a 100 butterfly, with a time of 47 seconds flat, which is the fastest in history. Finally, Anna Moech swam her freestyle leg at a speedy 46.18 seconds, making the fastest 400 IM medley relay with a staggering time of 3:19.58.
Jordan Crooks from Tennessee has officially broken the 100 free record. With a time of
39.83, he comes out on the top of the leaderboard. Crooks took the title from Caleb Dressel, who previously held the record in 2018 with a time of 39.90. Johnny Kulow from Arizona State placed second right after Crooks with a time of 39.93, still an incredibly fast swim.
With all these amazing athletes swimming their absolute best at every meet, and at every race, next year’s NCAA Swim will continue to be amazing.
