Kofi Paras is a senior at Valencia High School and has been a member of the boys volleyball team for 4 years. Apart from volleyball, he plays an important role as a leader of Valencia’s Viking Nation student section and is an active member of the school’s community.

Q: How long have you played volleyball and what inspired you to start?
A: “I started freshman year and what inspired me to start was that I wasn’t really athletic so I joined this one.”
Q: What position do you play, and why do you enjoy it?
A: “I play outside hitter and I enjoy it because it’s somewhat athletic.”
Q: What lessons have playing volleyball taught you?
A: “Team building and communication.”
Q: What do you love most about volleyball?
A: “I really like the people and just playing with my teammates.”
Q: Is there someone that you look up to within the sport?
A: “Keoni Thiim, he plays volleyball at BYU.”

Q: Who is the most inspirational person in your life (or someone who inspires you)?
A: “Probably Jonathan Yun, my best friend.”
Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: “I’m going to barber school.”
Q: What is your favorite pastime?
A: “Hanging out and playing 2K with my brothers.”
